What reflexology can do for you
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a natural healing therapy based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet which correspond to every organ, muscle, bone, nerve, lymph node, and gland of the body. By applying pressure on these reflexes, reflexology relieves stress, improves circulation, and encourages the natural function of the corresponding body part.
How does Reflexology work?
There are over 7000 nerve endings on the bottom of your feet that connect to the brain, spinal cord, and sciatic nerve. In my practice, I work on the feet by stimulating these nerve endings to break up uric and lactic acid crystal deposits in the feet, leading to the release of the crystals into the bloodstream and elimination by the urinary system.
Additionally, the relaxation exercises used in reflexology bring about a state of deep relaxation which calms the nervous system and switches the body into parasympathetic (rest and digest) mode. Applying pressure to the feet when the body is in this relaxed state opens up the natural pathways your body uses to heal itself, interrupts the pattern of stress, and brings balance to the body and its systems where there is imbalance or congestion.
If I find crystals, grit, or puffiness during the treatment this indicates congestion or an energy blockage in the corresponding body part. To promote healing in this area I will apply pressure or yielding pressure.
How can Reflexology help me?

F.A.Q.
Will Reflexology hurt?
Reflexology is usually very relaxing, and any discomfort felt should never be beyond what you are happy to accept. Pressure can easily be altered depending on the needs of the client.
Can I have a Reflexology treatment if I have a verruca, bunion, corn, etc.? Verrucas, bunions, corns, etc. all relate to the health of the reflexes on which they develop. Reflexology will help as it boosts circulation to the affected areas. Verrucas can be worked around if covered with a plaster.
Can Reflexology help with aches & pains in my feet? Reflexology will help relax the feet and may improve circulation easing aches and pains. To promote healing in this area I will apply pressure or yielding pressure depending on the needs of the client.
